Eddie view as the Mets head for the "All-Star Break"

Sunday July 9th 2006

Mr Glavine is about to head to the all Star break with eleven wins under his belt for the 1st time since 1988. As the Met's finish their four game series against the Florida Marlins Mr Galvine (11-2) with a 3.43 ERA has played and important role in leading his team to a possible playoff berth. He has won nine straight decision, and has the best record and the best ERA among the team starters. His .846 winning percentage is his best since 1998. That was the last year he won the Cy Young award. He went into the all star break that year with a 12-3 record and a 2.63 ERA before finishing the year 20-6 with a 2.63
Mr. Glavine has not recieved a decision in last 2 starts including the (7 to6) victory on tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates which he pitched five innings and gave up five runs. He has had some bad outings with the Marlins against whom he has lost six of his last seven decisions but pitched well against them on March 27. Mr. Glavine carried a perfect game into the six innings. He allowed three runs over seven innings while striking out nine in a 7-4 victory, The team split a double header on Saturday, July 8th Jose Valentin was 2 for 5 in the second with a grand slam in the first inning and drove in a carrier high seven rums. I personally have met Mr. Glavine off the field on several different occasions, and I must say that he is one class act! Till August 31. All I can say is sit a back and enjoy the ride! Lets Go Mets!
